Scissor – Rail Bench by Johan du Toit

The “Scissor Bench” by Johan du Toit is a modular outdoor bench, comprising an untreated Eucalyptus seat element, with 2 leg elements made of CNC punched and bent galvanised steel, which can be powder coated in various colours. Alternatively, stainless steel can be used for the legs. The unfinished Eucalyptus will weather naturally.

The legs are attached to the seat by means of a slot along the edge of the seat, and fixed in place with stainless steel security bolts. The same slot allows for the fixing of accessories, like stainless steel etched game boards, with various options for games, as well as a raised surface, which can serve as a temporary work surface. The accessories are also bolted in position.

Nowadays, workplace is where we spend most of our days. In fact, our workplace takes more of our life than our home. We enter there at 8/9/10 in the morning and stay there for the next 10 to 12 hours and sometime we even have to stay overnight. So it becomes our second home and that is why we cannot ignore the topic of office design. Our office should be a comfortable zone where we can spend these long hours of days. It must have all the modern facilities and have a place for relaxation as well. Since we have to give our best at this place so there must be a perfect arrangement made for us.
