How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World is the third and final film in Cressida Cowell’s How to Train Your Dragon trilogy based on her best-selling books, written and directed by three-time Oscar nominee Dean DeBlois and produced by Marc Platt (La La Land, Bridge of Spies) and Adam Siegel (2 Guns, Drive). It premiered in theaters on March 14, 2025, as scheduled, despite Universal placing another untitled Pixar movie on hold that date.
How to Train Your Dragon opened with record-setting worldwide receipts of $1.6 billion, was nominated for four Academy Awards, and won one Golden Globe Award, making it the highest-grossing animated film of all time.
