Mr. Price will add 170 stores to its portfolio as part of this acquisition, most notably in Swaziland, South Africa, and Lesotho. These locations specialize in low-cost fashion apparel made locally and essential household items, value cosmetics, and electricity services.

Mark Blair, chief executive officer of Mr. Price, saw this acquisition as an incredible opportunity to expand their footprint in the value market, where they already hold a substantial presence. Blair noted that the Power Fashion team and operations complement those at Mr. Price and expect easy integration of all businesses involved.

Zeppa strongly supports Women Power Fashion, an initiative that urges clothing brands to make it clear where their clothes are produced and pay workers living wages. To bring awareness about this campaign, Women Power Fashion launched a pop-up sweatshop inside an active shopping center with six volunteers trying to produce as many garments in an equivalent amount of time as garment workers in Bangladesh or India would. Zeppa designed an awareness starter kit so consumers could better understand their purchases’ effects.
